Weekly Roundup # 113
A collection of interesting articles you may not have seen by authors you may not have read
The Weekly Roundup is a feature offered to my readers in addition to my regular articles. The Roundup is a collection of mostly recent articles you probably haven’t seen by writers you may not have read. The main intent is to expose readers to a reasonable amount of hopefully new information in the hope this will encourage some to explore further and develop a deeper understanding of the issues that shape our society and ultimately determine our way of life. The secondary intent is to offer some interesting reading for you while providing exposure for some great writers. Enjoy!
Last week the Weekly Roundup featured two articles by legendary gun writer John Petrolino. For those who are curious as to The Legend’s background and some of the other Second Amendment fights in which he is involved, we have a piece from Lee Williams describing John’s latest battle in New Jersey Police officially ignoring First, Second Amendments.
As we’ve said before, harmful gun control legislation starts in California and spreads like a cancer to the free states. AWR Hawkins reports on the latest example in Michigan Democrats Push Magazine Ban, Waiting Period, Increased Minimum Firearm Purchase Age.
Should defensive firearms be banned in national parks or other backcountry areas? Rational people would say no, and the issue is finally being addressed. Cam Edwards has the story in Ban on Guns in National Parks Challenged by Second Amendment Groups.
Gun owners who pay attention know that gun control laws generally make the public less safe and have almost no impact on criminals. Tom Knighton looks at the people typically hurt by these laws in The Innocent Lives Destroyed by Gun Control.
The Weekly Roundup now includes a humorous meme to lighten the day. The weekly meme is chosen from dozens posted in the Week in Pictures originally created by Steven Hayward and for a time carried on by his colleague John Hinderaker of the Powerline blog. Hayward and Hinderaker have now decided to alternate their WIP duties each week. Welcome back Steven! Powerline features excellent reporting and analysis of American politics and culture. I’ve been reading the work of Hayward and his colleagues for over fifteen years.
Enjoy this week’s meme.
