Weekly Roundup # 117
A collection of interesting articles you may not have seen by authors you may not have read
The Weekly Roundup is a feature offered to my readers in addition to my regular articles. The Roundup is a collection of mostly recent articles you probably haven’t seen by writers you may not have read. The main intent is to expose readers to a reasonable amount of hopefully new information in the hope this will encourage some to explore further and develop a deeper understanding of the issues that shape our society and ultimately determine our way of life. The secondary intent is to offer some interesting reading for you while providing exposure for some great writers. Enjoy!
The purpose of the Second Amendment isn’t to ensure Americans the ability to hunt rabbits and squirrels, surprise! Kurt Schlichter explains in The Most Important Lesson of the Iran War is to Buy Guns and Ammo.
In America, when it comes to politics, citizens mostly have to choose between the stupid party and the evil party. The following example of stupid in action illustrates how a politician who is not stupid can promote a stupid idea under the influence of the stupid party. Fighting to limit a right that should be enjoyed by all Americans to just a group of your buddies is stupid. AWR Hawkins explains in GOP Rep Pushes National Concealed Carry for Members of Special Forces.
When it comes to guns and the Second Amendment many Americans are somewhere between uninformed and misinformed with much of the misinformation being provided intentionally. Lee Williams presents one example in Why the Trace has problems with guns, gun owners, and the truth.
In America the government doesn’t spy on gun owners, right? Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO) shed some light on the issue in Exclusive – Rep. Lauren Boebert and Rep. Eric Burlison: They’re Spying on Gun Owners, and Congress Has Until April 30 to Do Something About It.
The Weekly Roundup now includes a humorous meme to lighten the day. The weekly meme is chosen from dozens posted in the Week in Pictures originally created by Steven Hayward and for a time carried on by his colleague John Hinderaker of the Powerline blog. Hayward and Hinderaker have now decided to alternate their WIP duties each week. Welcome back Steven! Powerline features excellent reporting and analysis of American politics and culture. I’ve been reading the work of Hayward and his colleagues for over fifteen years.
Enjoy this week’s meme.
