Weekly Roundup # 120
A collection of interesting articles you may not have seen by authors you may not have read
The Weekly Roundup is a feature offered to my readers in addition to my regular articles. The Roundup is a collection of mostly recent articles you probably haven’t seen by writers you may not have read. The main intent is to expose readers to a reasonable amount of hopefully new information in the hope this will encourage some to explore further and develop a deeper understanding of the issues that shape our society and ultimately determine our way of life. The secondary intent is to offer some interesting reading for you while providing exposure for some great writers. Enjoy!
More good news from the Trump DOJ in the fight to defend the Second Amendment. AWR Hawkins has the details in Trump DOJ Expands Lawsuit Against DC: Now Targeting Suppressor Ban Too.
Misinformation is a central tool used by the anti-gun left in the fight to disarm law-abiding Americans. It’s unfortunate that the medical community often plays into this strategy. Tom Knighton examines a recent example in Op-Ed by Physician Starts with Repeating Bogus Claims About Kids and “Gun Violence”.
Gun Owners of California (GOC) is a Second Amendment advocacy group that all California gun owners should support. Ineffective and dangerous gun control laws are constantly being introduced and implemented by the government in California to the point where it is difficult for law-abiding gun owners to stay knowledgeable and compliant. Take a look at GOC’s Priority Legislation to see what’s new in California’s attack on your rights.
Gun control laws are being vigorously challenged wherever they appear which is how it should be. These dangerous laws will only become a thing of the past by good people standing up to the bad politicians who enact them. Lee Williams describes the latest battle in the war in SAF files lawsuit challenging newly passed assault weapons ban in Virginia.
To end on a happier note, we’ll take a look at some old (really cool) classic firearms. Logan Metesh helps us out with 6 Rare Classic Firearms Lost in the Modern Age.
The Weekly Roundup now includes a humorous meme to lighten the day. The weekly meme is chosen from dozens posted in the Week in Pictures originally created by Steven Hayward and for a time carried on by his colleague John Hinderaker of the Powerline blog. Hayward and Hinderaker have now decided to alternate their WIP duties each week. Welcome back Steven! Powerline features excellent reporting and analysis of American politics and culture. I’ve been reading the work of Hayward and his colleagues for over fifteen years.
Enjoy this week’s meme.
