Weekly Roundup # 64
A collection of interesting articles you may not have seen by authors you may not have read
The Weekly Roundup is a feature offered to my readers in addition to my regular articles. The Roundup is a collection of mostly recent articles you probably haven’t seen by writers you may not have read. The intent is to provide some interesting reading for you while providing some exposure for some great writers. Enjoy!
A tragic example of how what should have been an incident of ordinary force needlessly escalated into a deadly force incident and how it will be racialized and politicized by the media. Ben Shapiro discusses the likely direction of the story and how it reflects on our culture in Race and the Legacy Media.
Finally, a great idea from a Republican senator that both reins in a rogue agency and addresses the national debt. Sean Moran has the story in Joni Ernst Proposes to Sell Millions of Dollars of IRS Firearms to Pay Off National Debt.
Colorado provides another example of what it means to “infringe”. AWR Hawkins has the details in Colorado to Require “Eligibility Card” for Would-Be AR-15 Purchasers.
While the DOJ is much improved under Pam Bondi and the current administration, we still have a long way to go. Olivia Murray explains in Why is Bondi’s DOJ still prosecuting a pistol brace owner.
I’ve addressed this issue a number of times in the past and arrived at the same conclusion. Tom Knighton takes a shot at the subject this week with help from legendary gun writer John Petrolino in Following FSU Shooting, It’s Time to Discuss What Works.
The Weekly Roundup now includes a humorous meme to lighten the day. The weekly meme is chosen from dozens posted in the Week in Pictures originally created by Steven Hayward but now carried on by his colleague John Hinderaker of the Powerline blog. Powerline features excellent reporting and analysis of American politics and culture. I’ve been reading the work of Hayward and his colleagues for over fifteen years.
Enjoy this week’s meme.
