Weekly Roundup # 72
A collection of interesting articles you may not have seen by authors you may not have read
The Weekly Roundup is a feature offered to my readers in addition to my regular articles. The Roundup is a collection of mostly recent articles you probably haven’t seen by writers you may not have read. The intent is to provide some interesting reading for you while providing some exposure for some great writers. Enjoy!
Californians aren’t the only people who elect bad politicians. AWR Hawkins describes what Michigan voters have done to themselves in Michigan Senate Dems Pass Bump Stock Ban, “Ghost Gun” Regulations.
Was President Trump acting within the law when sending troops to protect lives and property from LA rioters? John Yoo has the analysis in Federal Law and the LA Riots.
What happened when armed citizens responded during the LA Rodney King riots? The folks at the Gun Websites Blog bring us the story in When Armed Citizens Stood Their Ground and Unity Overcame Chaos.
A blind squirrel occasionally finds a nut and even the agency that should be abolished occasionally tries to do the right thing and is attacked for their trouble. AWR Hawkins has the details in 16 Democrat Attorneys General Sue to Stop ATF from Returning Legally Purchased Forced Reset Triggers.
The right to bear arms has a long history in Great Britain and yet that right has been all but lost to the current citizens of that country. Americans can learn from that experience and Tom Armstrong has the lesson in Returning “The Right to Bear Arms” to Great Britain.
Does New Jersey favor retired LEOs over regular citizens? Legendary gun writer John Petrolino has the story in 2A Favoritism Towards Retired Police in N.J. in Black and White.
Members of the second worst political party in America are not always the defenders of the Constitution they claim to be. AWR Hawkins has the story in Two GOP Reps Trying to Block Constitutional Carry in North Carolina.
The Weekly Roundup now includes a humorous meme to lighten the day. The weekly meme is chosen from dozens posted in the Week in Pictures originally created by Steven Hayward but now carried on by his colleague John Hinderaker of the Powerline blog. Powerline features excellent reporting and analysis of American politics and culture. I’ve been reading the work of Hayward and his colleagues for over fifteen years.
Enjoy this week’s meme.
