Weekly Roundup # 73
A collection of interesting articles you may not have seen by authors you may not have read
The Weekly Roundup is a feature offered to my readers in addition to my regular articles. The Roundup is a collection of mostly recent articles you probably haven’t seen by writers you may not have read. The intent is to provide some interesting reading for you while providing some exposure for some great writers. Enjoy!
Useless, idiotic responses to school shootings are not exclusive to American politicians. AWR Hawkins reports on the Austrian response in Austrian Government Pushes More Gun Control After School Shooting.
More help is coming from the Trump administration in the fight to defend our Second Amendment rights. AWR Hawkins has the story in Trump DOJ Files Amicus Brief Supporting Challenge to Illinois “Assault Weapons” Ban.
Good news for Californians as the 9th Circuit makes a rare correct ruling in a Second Amendment case. Eugene Volokh has the story in Ninth Circuit Strikes Down California “One Gun-a-Month” Law.
From the desk of legendary gun writer John Petrolino, a story of a New Jersey town doing the right thing in N.J. Town Resolves That Excessive Permitting Fees are Unconstitutional.
Dr. John Lott of the Crime Prevention Research Center is the premier source for accurate information on all things related to crime, firearms policy, and the Second Amendment in the United States. Dr. Lott consistently debunks bogus gun control arguments including those from the medical community as he does here in JAMA Pediatrics Publishes Extremely Flawed Study Titled: “Firearm Laws and Pediatric Mortality in the US”.
The Weekly Roundup now includes a humorous meme to lighten the day. The weekly meme is chosen from dozens posted in the Week in Pictures originally created by Steven Hayward but now carried on by his colleague John Hinderaker of the Powerline blog. Powerline features excellent reporting and analysis of American politics and culture. I’ve been reading the work of Hayward and his colleagues for over fifteen years.
Enjoy this week’s meme.
